As a venerable Hong Kong brand, Wonder Wraps has in recent years actively sponsored various charitable events involving pre and post-natal care. Our latest outreach involves teaming up with Harmonicare Hospital and Mom Bliss in hosting a forum on pre-natal memory development.
The event featured keynote speakers including world-renowned Japanese pre-natal memory expert Dr. Ikegawa Akira, A Mothers Touch founder Liz Purnell-Webb, Queensland University of Technology honory consultant Dr. Heather McCosker, and various other experts in resolving questions and stress associated with pregnancies, child-birth, and early stage child rearing.
The first speaker, Dr. Ikegawa Akira, who advocates that “birth” is merely a milestone and not an end to natal care. Similarly, unborn babies are also aware of their surroundings and have already developed a memory. Therefore, the education of a child can begin as early as during the pre-natal period. Dr. McCosker, on the other hand, advocates the use of music during delivery, stating that its use has many advantages for both the mother and the new-born baby in reducing stress and pain. Finally, Liz spoke on the subject of the social adjustments required with the addition of a new family member. Specifically, suggestions were made on how a father can become more involved with his baby’s growth, developing an emotional bond, resolving familial conflicts, a avoiding four major conflict pressure points in a relationship.
Other than the plethora of useful information, participants were also gifted a bundle of gifts pertaining to baby care. It is safe to say that everyone walked went home with plenty of new knowledge.
