When is it safe to take babies out? Chinese traditionalists insist that a newborn stay home for the first 40 days, but American experts recommend that the early parts of a baby’s life should indeed be spent indoors to create feeding and sleeping habits, and to avoid obtaining bacteria the baby is yet immune to. However, strictly speaking, if everything is well-prepared and the environment is a controlled one, taking a baby out is acceptable, provided everything is handled with care.
